flower speaks
spoken eloquently
in silence the flower speaks
of spring, of youth, of beauty
of fertility in poetry
of sweetness, of passion, of expectancy
of life, of love, of purity

May, in the Philippines, is the month of flowers. Termed "Flores de Mayo" or Flowers of May, it is a month-long Catholic and Aglipayan festival in May meant to honor the Virgin Mary in prayers through flowers being offered by young girls.
For our 6th photo challenge for the month of May - It is NOT about the Flowers of May festival being celebrated in the Philippines though - it is plainly a celebration of flowers in photography.
So for our theme in the 6th dp+ photo challenge, it would be Exceptional Flower Photo.
It is extraordinary and beautiful flower photos that we're looking for here, without major photo manipulation. It can be something quite ordinary but looks splendidly extraordinary in picture, or something totally unique and beautiful and beautifully photographed as well.
Since only minor photo manipulation is acceptable, please check out our mechanics on what covers acceptable photo manipulation in the photo challenge through this link: http://dpplus.blogspot.com/2012/03/dp-photo-challenge-general-rules-and.html

Good luck to all!
Yoo Hoo I am on board now to get my brain clicking in sync with my camera and eyes and of course flowers! Great choice, thanks. Karen Sharkey
ReplyDeleteReally thought a lot about this next photo challenge. For a change, it would be a feast for the eyes. thanks, Karen!! :)
Deletei can almost "smell the roses" coming. let your work show your choice of color, angle, contrast, and simplicity be the bearer of oh's and ah's from people who do the same thing you do. compete with your own self, and you'll find yourself among those who have shared their love of light and writing: PHOTOGRAPHY.
ReplyDeletei can only look forward with anticipation. thanks, that's a neat advice. nothing like your past self to compete with. most of all thanks for allowing dp+ to use your photo as visual for this challenge you gave justice to the flower in its near extinction state - beautiful photo execution.
Deletethanks for using the term "near extinction"... it's well said.
